In 2013, Eve Heller came to Mexico City to teach a workshop about contact printing and experimental film on 16mm. Back then I was lost -creatively speaking- since digital did not offer me what analogue does but I was into digital.
I enrolled in this course and I renewed my vows to experimental film. From here on, I am more and more interested in film and analogue supports.
Now, this short film is the seed for a longer version.

This exercise is about the disease of the title. I made it on 16 mm with a pinhole instead of a lens at 8 fps. Even the title cards were made with a pinhole. I waited and waited for sunny days until finally I could shoot the film. It was shot in colour film but hand processed as black and white negative. To transfer the footage to FCP for further editing, I used the simple method of projecting on the wall and capturing video with a Canon T3i. Made in Mexico City at the Estudio Taller Selenium.

A man's indecision to travel caused by a childhood traumatic experience.
These short videos were made during the workshop Labour in a Single Shot, taught by Harun Farocki in February 2014 during his stay in Mexico City.
These are my collaborations for the collective project.
